founder/ceo of visual contracts

about

with a background in industrial design engineering (msc. design for interaction at delft university of technology) lieke has worked as a service/ux designer and researcher in many different contexts. since 2015 she focused on the legal sector to create access to law and access to justice by facilitating lawyers and designers to work together from a legal design perspective. with her team at visual contracts she is now building the ‘canva for contracts’, a saas for business and legal counsels to create understandable contracts by selecting a template, adjusting the legal content through ai suggestions on plain legal language, visualisations and layout and by collaborating live in the same visual contract through the platform.

why is international women’s day important for you?

it is important to create a platform where female leaders and examples are celebrated. international women’s day is such a platform, and especially having the opportunity to look further than within the borders of your own country, you can find female role models that are ambitious enough to build businesses and careers that have paved the path for setting up internationally thriving businesses. i’m proud to be part of the equals role model campaign on international women’s day.

visual contracts

at visual contracts we stand for equity and inclusion and breaking through systems’ biases towards cognitive thinking patterns, neurodiversity, gender, and cultural and ethnic diversity. especially in legal systems that are supposed to support equity and fairness, it is often still lacking, unfair, and biased. through visual contracts and a platform where everyone can build more understandable legal documents and know what they sign for, we contribute to more legally aware and empowered citizens that form the base for a flourishing society.
