about

i’m jana, a software developer at bit currently wrapping up my bachelor’s in computer science at the vu. growing up as a top student in amman, i was surrounded by a familiar narrative: success meant becoming a doctor. but i was always drawn to mathematics and problem-solving, which naturally led me to software development, where i get to turn ideas into real solutions. i love learning new technologies and tackling challenging problems that make an impact. at bit, i focus on prototyping and building ai-driven products, constantly pushing myself to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges. i’m always learning from the people around me, and i love how everyone brings their own unique perspective to the table.

what qualities do you think are essential for success?

i think success comes from staying curious, pushing yourself, and being open to learning from others. it pays off to go after what you want, even when it feels uncertain, and trusting that things will eventually fall into place. the coolest things happen when you step out of your comfort zone and take on new challenges.

at bit, we believe diverse teams drive innovation. yet, stigmas discourage many women from pursuing technical studies, perpetuating inequality in the tech industry. joining the equals role model campaign reflects our commitment to dismantling these barriers and inspiring a new generation of leaders.

to the bold women shaping the future of tech: your presence at bit is invaluable. together, we foster a culture of respect, equity, and collaboration, where all voices are heard. representation matters because seeing what’s possible fuels dreams. at bit, we celebrate diversity, knowing brilliant ideas are born when everyone has the opportunity to lead.
