about
my career and life path haven’t followed straight lines; both were shaped by courage, curiosity and the willingness to change. ten years ago, i moved alone from portugal to the netherlands to pursue my ambitions, a journey that pivoted me from finance into operations, where i can connect strategy, data and execution. as a mother, my motivation is deeply personal: i want to show my daughter she can achieve anything (as long as it depends on her), regardless of her starting point or how non-linear the path may be. this international women’s day, i am proud to share my story because visibility truly matters.
why do you think it is important that role models need to be visible?
visibility triggers mindset shifts across organizations, society and women themselves. we still see too few female leaders. history and modern examples prove that, given opportunity, women accelerate in any industry. true progress isn’t just having women in the room, it’s about companies adjusting to and valuing female leadership’s unique impact rather than expecting them to lead like men. we need both, with their own strengths and weaknesses. role models show the next generation – male and female – that balanced, diverse leadership is the way forward. for my daughter i want a world where her unique leadership is valued, not filtered.
