“I have been working in e-commerce for more than 10 years now. Previously I supervised development processes for webshops with millions of euros in turnover. In 2021 my first book De IT girl came out. This book is about the lack of women in Dutch tech and why we should do something about it. I am an expert in social tech & e-commerce, in which technology serves everyone. My second book ‘Het Koopinfuus’ will be published in spring of 2023. I describe how we become addicted to online shopping and what we can do to prevent that as a company and consumer.”
What or Who inspired you to pursue your chosen career?
“When I was younger I had some friends who were into making websites. That made me more interested in what was possible online. Still, I can’t really say there’s been a moment, or one specific person, that inspired me to get into the tech sector. These days I read a lot of stories from women in tech. That helps to keep working in the sector. Think, for example, of Marsha Goei, Hiukwan Tam and Mimi den Uyl.”
