about

i am niloofar yazdani, an embedded software developer at twtg, where i work on neon products. neon is a series of small, iot-based sensors that communicate using lorawan technology. our aim is to provide asset monitoring and maintenance solutions to our customers. our team is responsible for all aspects of product development, from conceptualization and design to implementation, and we strive to tailor our products to meet the specific needs of our customers.

what or who inspired you to pursue your chosen career?

niloofar: i am originally from a quaint city in the east of iran. as a child, i was filled with big aspirations and dreams of exploring the world and becoming an astronaut. at that time, the only way i could achieve these goals was by studying diligently. however, as i delved deeper into my studies, i realized that i had a passion for learning and building things. although my ultimate goal of going to space remains, it is no longer the driving force behind my aspirations. my father had always been my biggest supporter, constantly encouraging me and fueling my passion. but it was one of my teachers, who instilled my fascination with space when i was just 9 years old. she taught us about the wonders of the universe in a captivating manner that has stayed with me to this day.

twtg

for us at twtg, it’s important to join the equals role models campaign. it is still the case in the industry that it is easier to fill tech-focused roles with male applicants, and we want to change this.

while we are proud of the variety of our people, with many different backgrounds and nationalities represented at twtg, we still endeavour to drive for more diversity in technology and leadership roles.

because of this, twtg will take a leading role in the women in energy circle to help make the industry more accessible to both women and new entrants and, at the same time, help retain the talent we already have. technology is exciting, and it’s open to everyone. that’s why we’re excited to join the equals campaign.
