hi! together with bunq’s founder and ceo, ali niknam, we’re on a mission to take bunq’s vision global. as his co-pilot, i help navigate and steer the company towards success.
my story, growing rapidly from support employee to entrepreneur to second-in-command at bunq, is a testament to the fact that anything is possible.
and that’s precisely the beauty of bunq’s culture – it doesn’t matter where you come from or how long you’ve been around, if you’ve got the skills and the drive, you can make it big. everyone is welcome and gets the same opportunity to succeed.
what advice would you give to your younger self?
if i could give my younger self three pieces of advice, here they are.
first, put in the work because there is no secret sauce. be disciplined, relentlessly pursue excellence, and focus on mastering your craft. let the quality of your work speak for itself.
second, the right environment is crucial. don’t settle for mediocrity; seek result-driven environments and surround yourself with driven individuals. avoid forcing a seat at a table in a company that offers the same old, stale routine. look for companies where everyone has an equal opportunity to build their own table.
third, traditional career paths are overrated. just keep moving forward. your intrinsic motivation is your strength: don’t let external opinions or expectations distract you.
