i got my master’s degree in it and applied math, i wanted my job to be more tangible so i did ph.d. in bioinformatics, my thesis was in cancer genomics, but i realized even if i would see the results of my work it would take tens of years, so i opened my own company. we started as a consulting in biotech and after 1.5 years switched to agri-biotech, now we are building saas for livestock genomic selection. i am excited about the idea that with a small group of very smart people, you can actually change the whole industry!
what advice would you give to your younger self?
try everything, choose the multidisciplinary fields, and do projects with different people in different countries (science, volunteer, small startups — anything). this is the way you will know how the world works, this is the way you will meet the most passionate and talented people. and in the future, it will give you the basis to build anything you want!
