about
in my life i have always been fascinated by social change and what is needed to make people change their thoughts and actions in order to create a society which includes everybody. with my business background, marketing & communication expertise, interest in human behavior, experience in leading mission focused organizations, social heart and strategic impact brains, i am now – as director of women inc. – very motivated to structurally close the gender gap in the netherlands.
why is international women’s day important for you?
women and men still do not have equal opportunities in the netherlands.
our system has been designed many years ago, based on ideas that are limiting for women as well as men. progress towards gender equality has been made but we have to act now to speed it up. fix the system, not the women!
women inc.
women inc. is an interest group that has been accelerating the emancipation of women in the netherlands since 2005. we strive for a society with equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of their gender or sex.
our goal for girls and women in 2030 is to: have access to a labour market with a level playing field (without a wage gap and with a fair division of work and care); equal possibilities and opportunities to realize financial independence; customized healthcare, taking differences between men and women into account. and finally: a gender sensitive government that develops policies that create equal opportunities for everyone.
we need role models to achieve gender equality, they break stereotypes and that is exactly what we need!
