about
i have a background in biomedical research and a clear profile regarding ‘digital healthcare’. i obtained my phd degree in medical informatics (amsterdam umc-uva) in 2019. my professional activities focus on projects and activities at the interface of policy, research, (health) innovation and digital transitions. my interests are patient centeredness and access to qualitative care. currently, i lead as well as participate in national and international interoperability projects, focused on healthcare information availability and digitalization for improvement of health and care. to unwind, i love going on walks with my dog.
why do you think it is important that role models need to be visible?
i’ve mostly done things a bit differently than my peers and i think it’s important to show that doing things differently is actually very normal. not everyone might have a ‘role model’ to relate to in her/his immediate surroundings. then it can help to see someone in a visible role in which you recognize values and behaviors you aspire to yourself.
