operations manager at oikocredit edcs

about

growing up in a colombian family, i always dreamed of traveling the world, with my nose buried in books about different cultures. in 2009, this passion led me to the netherlands, where i pursued a master’s in financial management at tilburg university. my dream extended beyond cultural exploration; i wanted to use finance to reduce income inequality.

five years ago, i was thrilled to join oikocredit as an operations manager, contributing to its incredible mission. oikocredit encourages responsible investment by channeling finance to low-income communities worldwide. this role has been both challenging and rewarding, requiring constant adaptation due to the dynamic environment. i thrive in this type of environment, as i am a reformer by nature that derives energy from change. i feel extremely fortunate to spend my energy and time making a difference for others.

what qualities do you think are essential for success?

visualize what you want to accomplish and reverse engineer it. success is not a straight line, it is a journey full of bumps and detours. i find that staying calm and kind to myself makes the journey to success more enjoyable. success means different things for different people. it is about what you dream about, what gives you energy, what fulfills your purpose, what gives you peace and create a legacy. don’t let conventional stereotypes define your success.
