about

a bold career move: my journey into fullstack development

a few years ago, if somebody told me that i would pursue a career in it, i would not have believed them. i always saw it as a male-dominated industry, one where i didn’t see myself fitting in. however, life can sometimes take an unexpected turn. today, i am proud to announce that i am a fullstack developer at brunel – and i wouldn’t have it any other way.

the journey wasn’t straightforward. i took a risk by leaving my previous employment without a clear destination in sight.

what i did know was that i had to follow my ambition. it was then that i came across equals.

was it fate? i believe so… sometimes, opportunities present themselves in ways we least expect them too.

equals offered a unique program: “a traineeship with a job guarantee, exclusively for women aspiring to start a career in the it industry”. what initially felt like a risk, quickly turned into an invaluable opportunity. now, years later, i am featured on a large poster representing brunel and equals. and this is only the beginning.

that one bold decision has truly paid off. sometimes, stepping outside your comfort zone is exactly what it takes to turn ambition into success.

what advice would you give to your younger self?

afraid? okay… do it afraid!
