i want to contribute to providing trust to society. de nederlandsche bank seeks to safeguard financial stability and sustainable prosperity. i work hard every day to make that a reality and i love doing that with so many talented and socially committed colleagues. we have a range of tasks in our organization. mine is to work on our strategy and to improve and implement national and international policy, focused on the supervision of financial institutions. so that everyone can make payments, borrow, save, invest, get insurance and build up a pension.
why do you think it is important to have visible role models?
i believe it is important to have visible role models showing what is possible. they may be working somewhere you have not thought about, they can inspire and guide you along the way, they can promote a sense of belonging. it is difficult enough to find out what you are looking for and what talent it is that you bring to the table, let alone to have to do that all by yourself. i am married and i have two beautiful daughters. i hope that some day they will have a role model to help them find their way. so yes, it takes a role model to become one!
