i’m a founder, educator and human-centered ai practitioner from the generation that memorized phone numbers, learned patience from dial-up, and navigated without gps. i founded goodhumans smartmachines because ai literacy is becoming a basic civic and workplace skill, and gen x is not about to sit this one out. my work focuses on responsible ai adoption and workforce resilience for mid and later career adults. my goal: make ai understandable, useful, safeguarded and accessible for everyday people.
why diversity day is important for you?
diversity day matters because better futures are built when more people help shape them. in ai especially, who is included in the conversation influences what gets designed, protected, and prioritized. diversity brings the full range of experiences, questions, and forms of knowing to the table. inclusion is how we help ensure progress remains responsible, useful, and human. what a terribly boring world it would be if we all looked, thought, and believed the same. i prefer the full vibrancy and potential in all our dimensions of difference bring.
