director of data science & analytics, vinted go at vinted

about

i am ukrainian and i’ve called amsterdam home for the last 7 years. my background is in maths, economics, statistics and operations research, shaped by family of civil engineers, software developers and applied mathematicians who inspired my path into data science & analytics and tech.

i’ve worked in data for 15 years, the last 4 in leadership roles. as director of data science and analytics at vinted go, i help vinted transform the world of shipping logistics in a data-driven and measurable way. the most fulfilling part of my work is learning from the brilliant people around me and helping people grow meaningfully in their careers.

my favourite quote is: “”all models are wrong, but some are useful.”” it captures how everything is open to interpretation, but data can make the world a little more explainable and objective, especially now, when we generate more of it than ever.

i want young women to know that…

1/ the largest opportunities in life often feel intimidating. jump into them anyway. worst case, you’ve learnt something. 2/ don’t hesitate to take a step back in your career if it eventually takes you where you want to be. 3/ learn every day and learn from other people. inspiration from ideas and others is a powerful tool for your own growth. i myself still have lots to figure out even after many years of my professional journey, but these principles helped me land where i am today.

addressing diversity is an opportunity to create positive ripple effects. for vinted, it starts with encouraging young girls to choose tech, amplifying the voices of women, and empowering our own to lead and drive innovation. we understand the role awareness plays in the rethinking and innovation of the tech industry, and want to build our team with top talent that represents everyone while being an example to future generations. closing the equality gap in tech requires ecosystem-wide collaboration, and this campaign is one step in that direction!
