about
i started out in arts education, and i still think of myself as an educator at heart. i didn’t study tech, and my path into it wasn’t a traditional one. i found my way there through sustainability, discovering that technology could be a means to solve problems, rather than an end in itself. while working in sustainability tech, i saw cultural organizations struggling with increasingly complex sustainability requirements, without always having the tools or knowledge to navigate them. i realized that tech, as well as the experience i had gained, could be applied differently. that’s really how relevé began: bringing together arts, education, sustainability and tech to make sustainability more accessible, turn complex concepts into practical action, and give (art and cultural) organizations the knowledge and confidence to make meaningful change.
i want young women to know that…
you’ve got this. you have the skills. you have the talent. you are experienced enough. don’t wait for someone else to tell you that you belong. your path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. everything you’ve learned along the way gives you your own combination of skills, experiences and perspectives. that’s your strength. it’s what sets you apart. i came to tech through arts, education and sustainability. that mix helped me see an opportunity others might not have seen… and build relevé from it. own what makes you different.
relevé
at relevé, we believe that who gets to build shapes what gets built. different backgrounds and perspectives help us see different problems, challenge established systems and create better solutions. we put that belief into practice by using tech to make sustainability and impact more accessible to arts and cultural organizations, giving them the tools and knowledge to understand, prove and improve their impact. that’s why this campaign matters to us. by making diverse role models more visible, we can show there is no single path into tech or leadership, and inspire more perspectives to shape a more equitable and sustainable future.
