geotechnical engineer at iqip

about

during my studies at tu delft in civil engineering, i was very familiar with the comments of; “delft! there must be a lot of men in your workfield.” while the answer is yes, i have been fortunate enough to never feel this is a limiting factor. i was raised with examples of strong ladies in my direct environment with strong sense of purpose and duty, also empowering me with the feeling of being able to choose what i want to do. i know that this is not a given for all girls, that’s why this campaign is so important!

what or who inspired you to pursue your chosen career?

my career is really a syntony of my passions. it’s making a difference at the interface of our society and the earth. as a geotechnical engineer i need to understand the origins of the soil, understand the workings of the mechanical machines and the physics that are at play during pile driving. i love that my work is interdisciplinary and i can learn from other engineers but also the fact that i can go on site and see the works in action. this really drives me! i would like girls to be bold and find what they are passionate about!
