about

i’m florentine. i have always loved making tangible things. from pottery to clothing, and from gardening to designing parks and streetscapes. i started my career as a designer at a commercial firm, where i learned a lot about designing functional spaces. in my current role at the municipality of delft, i get to contribute to making this city greener and ready for the future. integrating nature in the city is essential for the wellbeing of both humans and animals. working on public spaces in diverse teams results in places where everyone can feel welcome.

why international women’s day is important for you?

for much of history, women’s achievements have been overlooked, even though women have always been essential. by celebrating the contributions of women, we can help ensure they feel welcomed and encouraged to enter traditionally male-dominated fields. to shape cities where women feel safe, we need women represented at every level—from city planning and policy to engineering and construction.
