about

hi, i’m maroescha and i’m an insight researcher at the analytics department of the postcode lottery. i’ve always been fascinated by what drives people — why they do what they do and what they care about. from solving jigsaw puzzles as a kid to translating consumer behaviour into marketing strategies today, i’ve always enjoyed connecting the dots.

at the postcode lottery i combine data, research and creativity to turn consumer insights into marketing decisions. what i love most about my job is finding the story behind the numbers and using it to help shape campaigns that really resonate, while contributing to society.

why do you think it is important that role models need to be visible?

role models are like landmarks in unfamiliar territory. when you’re one of only a few in a room, it can feel isolating. seeing someone like you navigate that space, face challenges, succeed, and keep going shows that the path is possible. visibility doesn’t just inspire – it signals permission: “you can do this too.”

women remain underrepresented in the tech and analytics field. almost 30% of our tech department is female, which is above average, but there is room for improvement. naturally, we strive for fifty percent. we believe diversity in teams is crucial: these teams perform better, foster more innovation, and contribute to a more inclusive culture. fortunately, we have highly enthusiastic and ambitious female tech members here at the lotteries. we believe sharing their stories will make a difference. we hope this campaign will inspire more women to pursue careers in tech, and we wholeheartedly invite them to come join our tech departments.
