about
born and raised in pakistan, grew up as a woman with a strong support system around, so dreaming big came naturally. graduated in chemistry and taught at a college, a role i truly enjoyed. nevertheless, i wanted to expand my horizons, and moved to spain for a phd and postdoctorate, embraced a new country, language and grew within that scientific environment. like always, challenges did come along the way. worked on a laser technique-libs, which led me to my current company in delft. we apply libs for material processing globally and it allows me to connect to the world.
why do you think is important that role models need to be visible?
it is the alignment in vision, energy, actions and shared interests that brings synergies and coherence, and that is why when our interests and ambitions match with someone, we admire them and want to learn from them, which eventually enriches us. having visible role models allows us to learn from their journeys and legacies, to become better versions of ourselves by integrating the qualities we value in them. in my view, being a role model does not require extraordinary achievements, sometimes simply following your dreams, staying persistent, and giving yourself a better life is enough to inspire others.
